USING CITRIX RECEIVER FOR IPHONE Citrix Receiver 1.0.3 is a single auto-updating client that provides users with fast, secure, and easy access to all of the applications they need to work from anywhere. With this release of Citrix Receiver for the iPhone platform, users can access any XenApp hosted application from their Apple iPhone or iPod Touch. Users can view, review, edit, and interact with full-featured Windows applications, documents, and data just like they would if they were at their PC. CONFIGURING CITRIX XENAPP To use Citrix Receiver, you need an iPhone or iPod touch mobile device with iPhone 2.2 Software Update installed (version 2.2.1). For more information about software updates for iPhone and iPod touch, visit the Apple Web site. To deploy Citrix Receiver to users, you need: • A server farm running one of the following: o Citrix Presentation Server 4.5, with a Program Neighborhood Services site configured o Citrix XenApp 5.0, with a XenApp Services site configured • The root certificate for the farm to which users will connect For information about requirements for deploying Citrix Presentation Server or Citrix XenApp and publishing resources, refer to the Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 Administrator’s Guide or the Citrix XenApp 5.0 Administrator’s Guide. For information about deploying or configuring Program Neighborhood Services or XenApp Services sites, refer to the Citrix Web Interface Administrator’s Guide. You can access these documents on Citrix eDocs (http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/). USING PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF CITRIX RECEIVER If you have Citrix Receiver 0.9 Technology Preview installed, Citrix recommends you uninstall this version before installing Citrix Receiver 1.0.3. Installing Version 1.0.3 does not uninstall or automatically update previously installed versions. SSL CERTIFICATES To connect to a XenApp farm, users’ iPhone or iPod touch devices must have a Configuration Profile installed that includes the certificate for the Web server hosting the farm’s Program Neighborhood Services site or XenApp Services site. You can obtain this certificate from your browser’s certificate store. Note: Citrix Receiver does not support wildcard certificates. For information about creating Configuration Profiles and distributing them to users, visit the Apple Web site. SSL VPN CONNECTIVITY Citrix Receiver supports connecting to a XenApp server farm through the following products or components: • Citrix Access Gateway Standard Edition • Citrix Secure Gateway when used as a proxy in normal mode Connectivity through Citrix Access Gateway Advanced Edition or Enterprise Edition is not supported. Connectivity through Citrix Secure Gateway when used as a proxy in relay mode is not supported. Authentication Methods Citrix Receiver supports authentication through Access Gateway using the following methods: • Domain authentication • RSA SecurID • Domain authentication paired with RSA SecurID For more information about using these authentication methods with Access Gateway, see the Access Gateway Standard Edition Administrator’s Guide. STARTING CITRIX RECEIVER FOR THE FIRST TIME When users start Citrix Receiver for the first time, they are required to enter information about the XenApp farm hosting the resources they want to access. To ensure users can connect successfully to the XenApp farm, be sure to distribute the following information: • The location of the Program Neighborhood Services or XenApp Services site hosting resources; for example: http://servername/Citrix/PNAgent/config.xml • Domain name • The product edition and authentication method, if using Access Gateway Users can turn on the Sign In Automatically option so this information will be remembered the next time they start Citrix Receiver. If the Sign In Automatically option is turned on, users cannot access the Account Settings screen later. To access the Account Settings screen, turn off this option by tapping Settings > Citrix. Then, restart the Citrix Receiver to view the Account Settings screen.
STARTING CITRIX RECEIVER FOR IPHONE When you start Citrix Receiver for the first time, you must enter specific information about the resources you want to access, your credentials, and your authentication method. If you do not have this information, contact your Citrix administrator. 1. On the Account Settings screen, enter the following information: • The address of the XenApp Services site hosting your published resources • Your user name and password • The domain name 2. To store your password for the next time you start Citrix Receiver, turn Sign In Automatically on. 3. To log in through Access Gateway, turn Gateway Sign In on. After turning on this option, configure the following settings: a. Under Gateway Type, select the edition of the gateway. b. Under Gateway Authentication, select the appropriate authentication method. 4. Tap Next, Citrix Receiver displays a list of apps you can access. EDITING YOUR ACCOUNT SETTINGS The Account Settings screen contains your account credentials, the address of the XenApp Services site that hosts published resources, and your authentication method. You can change this information at any time. To view or change information in the Account Settings screen: 1. Tap Settings > Citrix. 2. Turn off the Sign In Automatically option, if turned on. 3. Restart the Citrix Receiver. The Account Settings screen appears. GESTURES GUIDE Citrix Receiver comes with a Gestures Guide that provides short descriptions of supported iPhone gestures you can use while working with applications. To access the Gestures Guide, tap the button at the bottom left of the screen and select the Gestures Guide. Tap again to dismiss the Gestures Guide. WORKING WITH APPLICATIONS Once started, Citrix Receiver displays a list of application you can access. To start an application, simply tap to select it from the application list. When you are finished with an application, tap the button at the bottom left of the screen, then tap “Close App”. If you have any dialog boxes open, these elements are closed first. When all dialog boxes are closed, tapping the “Close App” button closes the applications and returns you to the application list. To return to the application list without closing the current application, tap the “Back to Apps” button. SCREEN PANNING By default, you can use one finger to pan the screen so you can see areas of an application that extend past the viewing area of your device. To anchor the viewing area, tap the button at the bottom right of the screen. The button changes to a scroll symbol and allows you to scroll the contents of an application window without panning the screen. TYPING Use the onscreen keyboard at any time to enter or modify text. To display the keyboard, tap the keyboard icon at the center bottom of the screen. When you are finished typing, tap “Done” to dismiss the keyboard. ENTER TEXT Tap the area of the screen where you want to place the insertion point. Tap the keyboard icon and then tap keys. To select a single item of text, such as a single word, double-tap the item you want to select. To select multiple items of text, such as a phrase, triple tap the first item you want to select and then drafgyour finger to the end of the next. To right-click (similar to right-clicking with a mouse), tap and hold your finger on the screen to display the shortcut menu for the selected item. EXTENDED KEYBOARD COMMANDS You can use the extended keyboard to perform common functions such as cut, copy and paste. To activate these functions, go to General iPhone Settings, select Citrix and tap Keyboard. When activated, these functions appear as buttons at the top of the keyboard. Swipe horizontally across the bar above the keyboard to scroll through the functions you have activated. The following commands can be activated: - Alt: Activates menus in the current application. - Alt+Tab: Switches between open windows in an application. - Copy: Copies the selected item. - Ctrl+Alt+Del: Provides Windows security options such as Lock Computer, Log Off and Task Manager. - Ctrl+Esc: Displays the Start menu. - Cut: Cuts the selected item. - Delete: Deletes the selected item. - End: Moves the insertion point to the end of the current line of text. - Esc: Cancels the current task. - F1-F12: Activates keyboard shortcuts assigned to function keys in an application. - Home: Returns the insertion point to the beginning of the current line of text. - Page Down: Scrolls content upward in the current document. - Page Up: Scrolls content downward in the current document. - Paste: Pastes a copied or cut item at the insertion point. - Refresh: Updates the current window. - Save: Saves the current file. - Slide Show: Starts a slide show for the current PowerPoint presentation. - Tab: Inserts a tabbed space in the current document. TAKING CALLS WHILE WORKING WITH CITRIX RECEIVER If you take a call while using Citrix Receiver, the application you are using becomes idle but does not close. If you end the call by tapping “End Call” or you allow the caller to end the call, Citrix Receiver displays the application list. You can then select the application you were using before you took the call and resume working. If you end the call by pressing the home button, you must restart Citrix Receiver and then restart the application you were using.
